Round-up of Showcase 23
What a few days up at Showcase 23 in Dublin. I met lots of lovely people: customers, potential customers, other greeting card makers, fellow exhibitors and support organisations. My cards for real relationships went down a treat and I'm currently preparing my first shipment to the USA and plenty more interest from local shops and chains right here in Ireland. A big shout out to Wexford LEO for selecting me as one of two companies to represent Wexford in the Local Enterprise Hall. It's a fantastic initiative to support smaller companies who are not yet ready to invest in a...
Trustwordie welcomed into the Made Local community
Just before Christmas, I was accepted onto the Design & Crafts Council Ireland’s (DCCI) Register of Design/Craft Enterprises as a Designer/Maker. It was a big but necessary step for trustwordie in order to be eligible to apply to join the Made Local community. I'm all about shopping local, sourcing local and using my regional supply chain so it was wonderful to be formally accepted into the community today. So we're up on the DCCI directory in our all glory.
It's showtime folks at Showcase 23
One of my New Year's resolutions was to get my beautiful cards into more shops and dare I say it, dip my toes into the export market. So taking a stand (L46) at Showcase Ireland in the RDS from the 22nd - 24th January 2023 seemed like the best place to start. I was delighted to be selected to represent Wexford in the Local Enterprise Showcase. We're mad busy preparing signage and a pretty clever brochure if you forgive me for blowing my own trumpet! So feel free to pop along to Stand L47 in the LEO Hall. I can't...
It's a wrap - Christmas Presence and present ideas
First off, I'm closing online sales of my Christmas cards today because it's cutting it a bit fine to receive the orders in time to post to loved ones. Thanks a million for your orders and continued support. Less than two weeks to go and I haven't bought a single present. Fear not, I'll be again shopping locally, sustainably and picking up the slack with edible gifts. I'm happy to share my intended gift ideas with you. Here's some of the presents I've given and received over the years, maybe even a few will make it on to this year's list. Spoiler alert for family and...
Joy’s “quirky and cool” cards feature in Irish Times
Big thank you once more to Gemma Tipton for including trustwordie in her ‘what a card’ section of today’s Irish Times magazine. I quote: ‘Talk of the demise of the Christmas card may have been premature, and with quirky and cool cards by the likes of Joy Redmond’s Trustword, you know yours will raise a wry smile wherever they land.’
